About Us
OUR HISTORY
Atlanta Junior Rowing Association was founded in 1988 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit club sport dedicated to providing rowing opportunities for high school students throughout Metro Atlanta. The program started as a small club rowing out of Atlanta Rowing Club’s boathouse. Growth over the next ten years required the club to build and move into their boathouse on Azalea Drive.
Today AJRA has more than 200 rowers from over 75 middle and high schools throughout Atlanta and is the largest, most successful high school rowing program in Georgia.

OUR FACILITY
The AJRA boathouse is located at 245 Azalea Drive on the Chattahoochee River in Roswell. The boathouse holds more than 25 racing shells, coaching launches, erg and weight training equipment, and space for indoor exercise when necessary.
A new dock was installed in August of 2018, allowing multiple boats to launch safely and efficiently, giving athletes more time on the water.

OUR ALUMNI
Help us keep up with you! If you have moved on from AJRA and have news of graduations, marriages, births, and achievements to share with your old friends, please send your info to our Alumni Chair, George Virgo ’01, so we can share it.
We want to keep AJRA going strong for another 25 years. Join the AJRA Alumni Facebook Group – become a fan and pick up right where you left off with your teammates and friends!

We always need help with planning future fundraising campaigns and alumni functions.
OUR COMMUNITY
Atlanta Juniors come together to help support the community in many ways.
Each year AJRA encourages rowers to be involved in outside community service organizations like Scouts, Beta Club, Young Mens Service League, National Charity League and many others. We also welcome the opportunity to collaborate with Scouts working to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
As a team, we support our home by actively engaging in City of Roswell celebrations and events while continually acting as stewards of the Chattahoochee River through clean-ups and other maintenance projects.
